Meeting Recap - March 19, 2010

At March's meeting of the RYPPC, we were pleased to have state committeewoman Lona O'Reilly as our speaker. She spoke about the duties and importance of state committee members, the role of the state and county parties, and Republican Party activism in general. Included were stories about waiters in school, pulled fire alarms, and parking in restricted areas.

The RYPPC would like to give a big thank-you to state committeewoman Lona O'Reilly for coming out and speaking!

Meeting Recap - February 19, 2010

At our February meeting on the 19th, the RYPPC were pleased to have Jason Sager speak. Mr. Sager is running for the U.S. House of Representatives for Florida's 5th district. A proud member of the Tea Party movement, Mr. Sager described himself as a "Jeffersonian Republican" who is dedicated to following the letter and spirit of the constitution. He also spoke on the importance of citizens becoming informed, active, and involved.

Next Meeting

The next RYPPC meeting will be Friday, February 19th at 7:00pm. The location will be the same as last time, Beef O' Brady's, 7040 Land O' Lakes Blvd, Suite 108. Be sure to drop on by, and don't forget to bring your ideas and a few friends!

Meeting Recap - January 22, 2010

On January 22, 2010, the RYPPC held our meeting at Beef O' Brady's. We were pleased to have State Rep. Kevin Ambler speak about his family and business career, his experience in local and state politics, and his campaign for State Senate in district 12.

More specifically, Mr. Ambler spoke about two of the issues among the most important to him. The first was the Florida homeowner's insurance market and state regulation, and the second being the way local governments present spending and "tax-cut" figures to citizens.

Kevin Amberly clearly had a strong command of the issues and we thank him for coming out and speaking!

Next Meeting

The next meeting of the RYPPC will be on Friday, January 22nd at 7:00pm. We are still scouting out a location but will notify everyone as soon as it is set. If you have access to a meeting place in central Pasco County, feel free to contact us in the comments or by email.

For the meeting, we will be honored to have State Rep. Kevin Ambler as our guest speaker. Rep. Ambler is also a candidate for the State Senate, district 12.

We'll see you there!

Meeting Recap - November 13th 2009

Our first Friday meeting was on November 13th, 2009. The guest speaker was Henry O. Wilson, candidate for District 4 Pasco Board of County Commissioners. Wilson spoke about the necessity of attracting employers to Pasco County to provide jobs and revenue. Afterwards, the club had a group discussion about issues, local and national, that are important to them and things in the political realm that were on their mind.

The August meeting for the RYPPC was on August 4th, 2009 and was held at Beef O' Brady's in Land O' Lakes. The guest speaker was Pasco County Supervisor of Elections Brian Corley.

Meeting Recap - July 7th 2009

Our July 7th, 2009 meeting was held at Beef O' Brady's in Land O' Lakes. The guest speaker was radio host and FL House District 45 candidate Fabian Calvo. Calvo spoke about the necessity of active and informed citizens in a republic, as well as the importance of limited government at all levels.

Meeting Recap - June 2nd 2009

The RYPPC meeting for June was on June 2nd, 2009 at Beef O' Brady's in Land O' Lakes. Hillsborough County Commissioner and FL Senate 12 candidate Jim Norman was the guest speaker.

Commissioner Norman spoke about innovative budget solutions that he has developed for Hillsborough County, solutions he hopes to bring to Tallahassee. He also voiced his concerns about the expanded role of the federal government in the auto industry, and why young people are so important to the future of the Republican Party.
